Does anyone know of any Forensic Science related internships for high schoolers near the Bay Area?

I've been interested in Forensic Science for a few years now and as a sophomore, I finally am trying to start seeing if I can actually do it or really want to. I've been looking online but it's hard to find good places that work with high schoolers, so any help is appreciated. #forensic #forensics #science #internship #bayarea

I missed your in high school. I would talk with the local police department and see if they have any job shadowing opportunities.

Hi Michelle! When I lived in DC I took a Forensics class thru GW; our classes were based in the Natural History Museum.
See if there's a history museum with bones and stuff that you can get into, maybe you can be a docent or something?

Just an idea. Think outside the box!

Alexis, I am not from your area, but your best bet is to call the various law enforcement agencies/departments and ask if they have internship programs. If its the lab you are interested in, check your state forensic labs and see if they have internships or volunteer programs you can be part of. Another way to learn about forensic careers is through Explorer programs. Or schools that have a dual credit (high school and college) courses. They will have career and college advisers who should be able to help you out.

Best of luck.

Check with your advisor. I recommend looking into cooperative education with a local firn, the FBI, the police department or with a security contractor.
