I would have to agree with the first answer. Slow days or hours, (days with weather) can be very boring. An additional thing is working with none professional pilots. In this example I am defining “professional” as a pilot that is being payed the fly an aircraft. This would not include an instructor. Pilots who are; hobbyists, students, low time instructors tend to be less proficient and more likely to do what then want or their interpretation of what your instructions were. This is most common at Class D Towers.

The thing that I dislike the most about my job as an Air Traffic Controller is a slow day. It is a lot more fun, and time goes by a lot faster when you are constantly talking to planes. There is not much to dislike about this job and the personality of controllers is very similar. Depending on the facility you usually work 8-hour shifts and are only on position for anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours at a time before you have to take a break, so there is a lot of down time.

Jeff’s Answer

I think my least favorite thing is the shift work, meaning you don't have a set schedule. Your typical week has you working a late evening shift depending the hours of operation if your facility, then each day you go to work a little earlier so by the end of your week you're working a early morning shift or overnight shift on short rest. You miss significant events like kids games and birthdays and such. It can wear you out over time if you don't take care of yourself and get proper rest.
