What to do to be the kind of doctor who works abord or almost in any place in the world?

I’m an 18 years high schooler and also a bilingual who is about to attend college. My objective is to finish my four years of college, integrate a medical school in order to grow more in medicine. However, I also want to work in other place around the world.

Great questions! Sometimes it can be difficult to practice in other countries. Each country will have toeir own regulations and requirements to practice medicine. For example, in the IS you have to finish medical school, and pass the board exams to become a licensed doctor that can practice here. Other countries will have their own requirements and possibly exams to be able to practice. That doesn't mean there aren't options to practice abroad. It just means it might require additional work and time.

I would also look into Doctors Without Borders. This is an organization of doctors that volunteer their time to travel around the world to provide medical care in regions where there isn't quality healthcare available. It's a great way to help people and travel. Thanks!

You are off to a great start! Being bilingual is a great asset by itself but add a medical degree from the US and you will be in demand!

American trained doctors are in demand all over the world. As a dentist I did a hospital residency and there were doctors and residents from many countries. Having been trained in the US was valuable to them because it was recognized in their countries. Personally I have had offers as a dentist to work in other countries, some were really great offers and required no additional training or credentialing. Different countries could require you to get a license. Some countries do not take income tax out of your pay either which means your keeping almost twice as much money. It can be difficult to establish a practice or have a family if you are traveling though. I think that's why more doctors don't take advantage of the increased earning potential.
