CareerVillage collaborated with a corporate partner to create one of the most successful employee engagement days in CareerVillage history!
CareerVillage hosted two Advice-a-thons and provided an opportunity for volunteers to sign up and write advice on their own time. During the two live events and the week that followed, 1,250 volunteers from this company wrote 2,600+ pieces of advice on CareerVillage.org.
The success of this volunteer campaign demonstrates how CareerVillage enables volunteering at scale, in a way that is also flexible and accommodating for busy professionals. In our increasingly digitized society, virtual volunteer opportunities are carving a place for themselves in the corporate world. By offering these opportunities, companies are not just staying aligned with the digital shift but also driving more employee volunteerism.
Flexibility Promotes Participation
The asynchronous nature of CareerVillage volunteering opportunities allows employees to contribute during hours that suit them best, be it a the beginning/end of the day, in between meetings, or even on weekends.
Many volunteers were able to engage and enjoy the live volunteer option, but they were also able to continue contributing on their own time. When employees feel they can volunteer without disrupting their personal or work schedule, they are more likely to participate. Offering virtual Advice-a-thons also levels the playing field, enabling those who may be unable to contribute in person to participate actively.
Without a doubt, CareerVillage is a great addition to any programming for companies looking to maximize impact on days of company-wide engagement.
