Hi Annalise!!!
Becoming a doctor is amazing. They all take the same path. You go to college then medical school. The difference is during residency.
The best advice I can give you about the path is to do well in high school and go to a college that has an early acceptance to a medical school. They usually require a GPA and a MCAT score that is clearly defined. You can specialize in anything you want but you have to make sure you complete the prerequisite for the MCAT/medical school. I also recommend volunteering so you can get amazing letters or recommendations and experience which will make you so interesting and memorable.
For medical school you have to do well and do well on your exams. Then you will work with doctors and ask for letters of recommendations. Then you do residency at which time you train to be a pediatrician. It’s a little longer path but so very rewarding.
I hope this was helpful.
