Hello Joan. It's truly commendable that at your age, you're bravely tackling such profound life question. Begin by fostering a strong belief in yourself. Take time to assess your strengths and weaknesses, as this will serve as your starting point. Next, make a comprehensive list of your current responsibilities, but don't forget to carve out time for yourself and those you hold dear - this is crucial. On top of this, overlay your dreams and ambitions, and don't forget to include opportunities to contribute to others' well-being - this is key to maintaining equilibrium. Now, compare this list with your starting point and ask yourself: what's truly worth the effort? What's enhancing my life and creating opportunities? These steps will guide you through the tumultuous process of determining how to best utilize your skills. However, I'd urge you to concentrate more on defining who you want to be. This might take some time, but you'll eventually learn to strike a balance without compromising your true self. Remember, it's not about how you start, but how you finish. Now, go out there and be extraordinary!

Hi Joan! I hope this finds you doing well! The key to maintaining yourself lies in you! It lies in your determination, dedication, self-discipline, responsibility, and accountability.
I have found for me, I do much better with a schedule. I know exactly what I need to do and when I need to do it. I am not a fly by the seat of my pants kind of girl. Having a schedule and a planner have really changed my life. I write down all the things I need to get done and make sure I have time for it all. This is not to say that there is no room for error or even emergency because there is. For example, I work from 8am-5pm, I also drive an hour one way. So I am up at 5am, leaving by 7am to get to work at 8am. Once I am home about 6pm, I cook supper and get ready to study for my classes. I know what days I need to study for what classes and I always allow myself the time needed. I make sure I have all my assignment due dates written in my planner, I also do this with doctors appointments, my kids sports schedules, anything really. I also use time on the weekends to study and work on my school work as well, that way I am not overwhelmed everyday during the week and getting to bed at midnight or later every night. I try to get between 6-8 hours of sleep, as this is what works best for me. You may need more. I also give myself time for me! One of the most important things to remember when you are a busy person is to stop and enjoy life. It is easy to get caught up in school and work and the everyday grind of life, but remembering to take time for me and making sure I take that time has helped me so much!! I love a good spa or nail day!
There is always a way when you have a will to do better. It takes time and self-discipline to adhere to schedules but it can be done if you make it a priority. I hope this helps!!
