Christian, it's truly inspiring to see young individuals like you aspiring to become accountants. The journey begins with securing a spot in a college, which is your first milestone to conquer. Once there, your college counselor will be your compass, guiding you on which courses to choose. The realm of accounting is vast, with numerous specializations to explore, including bookkeeping, tax, acquisitions, financial planning and analysis, investments, and forensic accounting.

Upon completing your college journey, you can further enhance your credentials by acquiring certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), to name a few. It's crucial to have a deep understanding and appreciation of accounting.

Consider discussing your aspirations with your high school advisor and explore if your school provides any accounting or business-related classes. Community colleges often have summer accounting classes, which could serve as a great stepping stone. Once you've grasped the basics of accounting, an internship (whether paid or unpaid) can offer invaluable hands-on experience and practice.

Remember, whatever career path you choose, embrace it with love and passion. Success is not a destination but a journey, and with your dedication and enthusiasm, it will naturally find its way to you.

Hi Christian,

There are only a few steps to accomplish your goal. First, you must enroll in a university. Second, choose Accounting or a related field as your major. Third, enroll in accounting classes that you have researched and enjoy. That's it! Until then, enjoy high school, get as high of a GPA as you can, and study for the SAT/ ACT.

Sincerely,

Kevin

Hi Christian,

Good question!

The good news is that all you need to do is graduate successfully from high school and enter a university that has an accounting major. Take accounting classes, get involved with any clubs or extracurricular organizations that support development of experiential learning and accounting projects, and you should be all set to start.

Good luck!
