Embarking on education for Acting at an American college is important as America is the prolific film center and has many widely known acclaimed colleges for this field. This will take some careful planning.
The first consideration is that the student would be expected to be proficient and fluent in English language and American culture. The steps I give would be for a student from an English speaking country. Many actors from England, New Zealand, Canada and Australia have made substantial careers in the U.S. Since actors are evaluated on physical appearance and the way their voice sounds, this is important to keep in mind.
The very first thing the student should do is decide and be definite about what college to apply to. Housing is equally important. Housing could be situated first and then a choice of college, or vice versa. The student needs to know exactly where they'll live before coming to the U.S.
The student will need to visit their local U.S. Department of State - Consular Affairs (Student Visas) at U.S. Embassies and Consulates in the country in which they live. It would be there that they could obtain their student visa.
Once the person is enrolled in college as a Theatre or Film Major (emphasis on Acting), the person can then apply for any scholarships offered at the university they are attending. They can also apply for generic scholarships that are different categories that they meet the requirements of. There are also scholarships for foreign students from various countries who want to study in America. I would suggest that the student visit their local university and inquire about scholarships to study abroad. The information is not the same for every country.
My advice for the student is to explore the possibilities of studying in either Los Angeles or New York City, NY. Their opportunities for work while being a student will be greater than other locations in the U.S. Exact advice depends on exactly where the student will be living in the U.S. There are opportunities to study acting in most states, however.
The sooner the student prepares for this, the better. The student can also consult the academic counselor at his or her high school for specific information about foreign student scholarships while studying abroad.
I hope this helps to get a start and I wish the student all the best !

Hi there,
Congrats on having an adventurous spirit! If you would like to study in the USA, first research schools and courses, attend remote open days and then secure the necessary financials for tuition fee, travel and housing expenses, additional costs, living and of course: visa fees. Your school of choice will provide you with guidelines for applying for an F-1 student visa. Additionally, look up organizations within your country that may assist people wanting to study in the USA, they can give you further advice on visa interview, application, etc.
If you would like to test yourself, get a better grasp of the language and develop your skills in film, it is useful to take a course in the USA. However, it is good to keep in mind the costs, fierceness of competition, current shrinking of the US film and theatrical sphere as well as dropping quality of education, circumstances of life and work.
Best of luck with your studies!
