Shamar, You don’t need a computer to start creating content on YouTube. If you have a smartphone with a good microphone and a well-lit space to shoot your video, that’s a simple and great start.

While I’ve never uploaded videos directly from my phone, it’s definitely an option if you don’t have a computer. Just be mindful of upload times—videos over 30 minutes can take a while to upload, depending on your Wi-Fi connection speed.

If your goal is to eventually earn money through the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), consistency is key. Uploading regularly (whether 2 or 4 times a week) will help you meet the YPP requirements: 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours (for long-form videos, not shorts).

Consistency helps you build a community of followers who resonate with your content and will keep coming back to watch your videos.

Last but not least, resilience, dedication, and self-care are just as important—if not essential—parts of this journey.
