To become a marine biologist, pursue a degree in marine biology or a related field. Gain experience through internships, research, and fieldwork. For pediatrician, complete a bachelor's degree in pre-med, then attend medical school, followed by a pediatric residency. Both careers require dedication, education, and passion for your interests.

Hey Lilly, both marine biology and pediatrics are amazing career paths, and it’s great that you’re exploring your options! If you’re interested in marine biology, you’ll want to focus on science courses like biology, chemistry, and environmental science in high school. Getting involved in activities like beach clean-ups, volunteering at aquariums, or joining marine science programs can give you hands-on experience. In college, you’d major in marine biology, ecology, or a related field and possibly go to grad school for research or conservation work. For pediatrics, you’d take a pre-med path, that means excelling in science (especially biology and chemistry) and gaining experience working with kids (like volunteering at hospitals, tutoring, or babysitting). In college, you’d major in biology, chemistry, or another pre-med field, then go to medical school to become a pediatrician.
Since you love both, you might consider a career that combines them, like marine veterinary medicine or environmental health, which focuses on how the ocean impacts human health. You don’t have to decide right away.. keep exploring both interests and see which excites you more! 😊
