hey Amadin,
Welcome to CareerVillage and great job posting your first question here!
Post-pandemic, certainly there has been a widespread adoption of remote work by companies. A lot of organizations now see remote work as a way to access global talent pool rather than limited to local hiring.
Here are a few key steps to enhance the odds of landing a good remote job!
1. Develop In-Demand Skills:
- Focus on high-demand areas like Tech (e.g., Software Development, Data Analysis), Creative Roles (e.g., Content Writing, Graphic Design), or Management (e.g., Project Management, Digital Marketing).
- Use platforms like Coursera, Udemy, or LinkedIn Learning to build expertise and earn certifications.
2. Optimize Your Profile & Resume:
- Tailor your resume to highlight remote work skills (e.g., proficiency in tools like Slack, Zoom, etc.).
- Create a strong LinkedIn profile and, if applicable, a portfolio website to showcase your skills and projects.
3. Search & Apply on Remote Job Platforms:
- Use platforms like FlexJobs, We Work Remotely, Remote.co, or Upwork to find opportunities.
- Network with remote professionals and join online communities for advice and job leads.
Good luck!

Hello, Amadin !
I would be happy to provide you with some advice, information and things to consider but as an advisor, we do not refer people to specific jobs. You also didn't mention what your career interests, education, skill set and work history and experience are. So your first step in inquiring to any company for work is to state what position(s) you are seeking.
There are a good number of employment websites, some mentioned on this page. Your first step would be to do an internet search for Employment Websites. You can try the website Remote Africa and their website link is below. It's great that you are open to doing work for any location, but keep in mind that you will have to make certain of the type of payment if it is not going to be paid in your country's currency. Also be aware of any country's tax procedures.
I know that you didn't mention your work experience or skills or education, but in general, you can seek jobs in the data entry and customer service realm for remote work. When you go to an employment website, just do a search on there for the types of jobs you are qualified for. Register at the website and job notices will come to you through your e-mail.
To apply for what you would consider a good paying job, you would read the employment notices on the websites. Most of them mention the rate of pay or salary. You would apply to the positions you choose with the salaries you like.
Applying online for employment requires you to have a resume and a cover letter, so you will need to have them in your computer to upload when you apply for work. Sometimes employers ask for additional materials specific to the type of work it is. For example, Writers are usually asked to send samples of their writing. Performers send photos of themselves. It all depends on the type of work you're seeking.
No one can tell you who will hire you. it's just a matter of applying and waiting to hear back. You should try to apply to many positions as that may increase your chances of getting an interview for a job.
You can try seeking remote employment through Employment Agencies in Benin City and Nigeria as they may have some remote jobs listed at their agencies. Here is where you can try: The Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, MacTay Consulting, PG Consulting Limited, Deloyjobs, XyCareers Nigeria, The Jobs Platform, NENnetworks, CareerswithFunmi Consulting, Adexen, eRecruiter Nigeria, BetaJob Nigeria, 9os Nigeria, Jobs in Nigeria - JobHouse Nigeria, JobsGivers Human Resource Services, JEV Consulting, Mani Recruits & Training Ltd, and more that you can find through an internet search. It would be good to call them and read their websites to see if they have any remote employment.
It takes some effort to apply for jobs and it helps to do the reading of websites and apply to many jobs that you qualify for. If you want to increase your skills you can decide which ones you want to improve and which new ones to learn. I hope that this has been helpful for you an that you get an interview soon ! Don't give up !
