Ken’s Answer

The best way to get an answer to this question is to contact a heavy equipment operator and ask the question in person. A good way to do this is to locate the local professional association to which heavy equipment operators belong in your area to phone the local contact person for an in person conversation and possibly arrange to attend a meeting, so that you can meet professionals and get to know them and their area more fully. Here is a link that will allow you to locate your local professional association to which heavy equipment operators belong in your area: ##

MICHAEL’s Answer

One way to get your pay docked is if you damage the equipment or damage anything on the job site. I think this is what you are looking for.

Patricia’s Answer

The employer will deduct for payroll taxes (income, social security and medicare), child support if there is a court order, health insurance , 401K. Any other deductions are only made with your permission, such as for uniforms or PPE. This is the best of my personal knowledge.

Patricia recommends the following next steps:

Ask your Human Resources manager what deductions they are taking or can take, they will have a more precise answer.
