For me personally, a few things help with withholding information that I have learned.
1. Somehow relating what I have studied to something from my own life
2. Forming a visual imagery in my mind of what I have learned since I remember images better in my mind than text
3. Talking out loud about what I have learned. Explaining what I have learned to someone else helps me retain information better

Hi Molly!
When I was in college, I struggled with staying focused when I was studying. So one of the best methods/tips for studying that I learned was using the Pomodoro Technique. This is a time management technique where you choose an assignment to work on or topic to study, set a timer for 25 minutes, work on the task with no distractions, and when the timer ends you take a 5-10 minute break. You will repeat this cycle a couple of more times until you take a longer break. This will allow you to focus on your tasks but help you avoid burning out.
Also, I'd recommend figuring out what is the best way for you to retain information. For me, I'm a visual learner so watching videos and reviewing examples helps me remember information easier. Best of luck and I hope this help!
