Thank you for your question. Many students have similar question.
Below are my suggestions:
1. Think about what you have interest in addition to pastry culinary,eg. your other hobbies, favourite subjects, etc and identify the related careers
Eg if you have interest in maths, would you like to be an accountant, engineer, banker, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc
If you like music would you like to be a musician, singer, musical artist, music composer, music producer, etc
2. Find out more on these careers and determine what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers
4. Shortlist 1-2 careers you would like to pursue
5. Explore the entry criteria of relevant subjects in colleges
Hope this helps! Good luck!
May Almighty God bless you!

Hey Antoinette! 🍰✨ So you’ve already dipped your toes into the world of pastries and baking arts, but now you're wondering if it's the right career for you? No worries, you're not alone! The path to finding your dream job isn’t always straight—sometimes, it’s more like a zigzag with sprinkles on top. 🎂
Here’s how you can figure out your next step, hope it hits a delicious spot to your question if not let me know maybe I can bake a good chocolate cake-what do you said? 😅 PS: I am good at it i wont deny!
1. Think About What You Really Love ❤️ – What lights you up? What do you do in your free time that makes you lose track of time? Whether it’s crafting, writing, working with animals, or maybe experimenting with new cake flavors (because who doesn’t love that?), try to explore what brings you the most joy.
2. Skills Inventory 🧠 – Take a moment to list your skills (and don’t forget to add “making the best cupcakes” to the list). Whether you're good at problem-solving, creating art, or managing projects, figuring out your strengths can help you identify other careers that might be a perfect fit!
3. Test It Out 🧪 – Don’t be afraid to try new things! Whether it’s volunteering or taking a short online course, dipping your toes into different fields can help you get a feel for what works for you. Think of it as a career sampler platter—tasty and low commitment!
4. Ask for Advice 🤔 – Sometimes talking to others can give you the clarity you need. Chat with people who are in careers that interest you, ask them about their journeys, and see if they’ve got any tips or insights that could help you make a decision.
5. Your Career Doesn’t Have to Be “Forever” 🔄 – It’s totally normal to change paths, and remember, careers can be flexible. The important thing is to keep learning and growing—whether you're in the kitchen or running a small business making custom jewelry. 🏆 Don't stress over it too much take it a step at a time. If you rush it wont end well if you slow it too much wont go forth (something like that😉) just go in a calm flow. Your decisions are your passions.
6. Give Yourself Time ⏳ – There’s no rush! You don’t have to have it all figured out right now. Sometimes the right path shows up when you least expect it (and no, it’s not always in the form of a new flavor of frosting).
In the end, follow what excites you, explore, and have fun with the process! Whether it's baking your way to success or switching gears to something else, it’s all about finding what makes you feel whole and fulfilled. You’ve got this I believe in you and let me know if i missed anything or if you need anything else! 👩🍳✨

Feeling uncertain about your career path is perfectly normal, especially when your interests change.
Here are some points to think about:
Rethink what you enjoyed about pastry and baking arts and what you found less fulfilling.
Explore different fields that align with your new interests and strengths.
Seeking guidance from career counselors.
There are websites where you can take personality and aptitude tests, some of them are free.
Try to gain hands-on experience through internships or volunteer work.
Take courses in various subjects like graphic design, marketing, business, etc.
Speak to professionals in different careers, and explore areas of interest, including your childhood attractions.
Set small goals and be kind to yourself during this transition. Evolving is normal as we grow.
Good Luck,

Hi Antoinette,
This is something that many people experience in life, which is uncertainty around what career path they'd like to pursue. I have a couple of questions for you: Have you finished culinary school? If you have, are you willing to re-enroll in a university to pursue a different degree? Is financing your education going to be an issue?
There's many questions to ask yourself when figuring out the correct career choice. But, first, it's important to evaluate your current situation. I'd recommend seeing if there's a similar career you can pursue with a culinary arts degree and deciding whether or not going back to school is right for you. If you do not want a career with baking, I recommend doing the following:
1. Identify your interests: Reflect on the subjects you've studied so far and pinpoint the ones that truly captivated your attention. This will help you eliminate areas that don't pique your interest.
2. Explore your options: Once you've identified your preferred subject, delve into related majors and potential careers. While exploring potential roles, consider the prerequisites, the type of personality suited for the role, the salary, work-life balance, job satisfaction, and the skills you could acquire along the way.
3. Consult with professionals or your academic advisor: One of the best ways to determine if a career path suits you is to converse with individuals already in the field. This will provide you with a glimpse into their journey, daily tasks, and experiences. These discussions can also serve as opportunities to seek advice and direction on how to attain similar roles. With your academic advisor, you can discuss your aspirations and devise a plan to achieve them, such as choosing a major, selecting a college, or participating in extracurricular activities.
4. Draft a roadmap to your dream career: Consider which major to choose, what clubs to participate in during high school or college, potential summer internships, length of education, and the skills you need to develop.
5. Don't stress about having everything figured out! You'll know you're on the right career path if you find joy in your work, are satisfied with your personal and professional growth, and feel a sense of fulfillment.
