Jase, to my knowledge the disclosing of trade secrets and confidential information is a fireable offense and second chances are not given. For various jobs that I had had, I had to sign non-disclosure agreements which forbade me from discussing confidential or internal company stats/trade secrets with anyone who was not part of the company. Furthermore, I was even restricted in which people within the company that I could discuss things with. What I am trying to say is that DO NOT discuss anything confidential with someone who should not be hearing what you have to say. Not only will you most likely get fired, but often there are serious legal and financial penalties for doing so.

When in doubt say nothing and keep you thoughts to yourself, you don't want to risk getting fired and going to jail.

I hope this helps.

Best,

Austin

Confidential means confidential. If you break that core element of a business i think you should expect to get fired. When you break confidentiality you are hurting the company as well as customers. It also shows a lack of character which is a critical trait in order to have a successful career.
