Dr’s Answer

Hey Antoine!
I’m not a programmer, but my brother is, and sooooo here’s the scoop—he loooves the creativity! Because you get to build cool stuff, solve puzzles every day, and bring ideas to life with code, that is fun. Plus, the job is totally flexible—you can work from almost anywhere even Antarctica if you don't freeze ofcourse. So if you enjoy problem-solving and tech, it’s a pretty awesome gig!
If you want here is a few tips I can recommend:

1. Start Small: Try beginner-friendly coding platforms like Scratch or Code.org to learn the basics in a fun way.
2. Be Curious: you know just Ask questions, explore how your favorite apps or games work, and try building your own mini-projects. Everything starts small and with curiousities.
3. Practice Regularly: Coding is like a superpower—the more you practice, the better you get! Aim for a little bit every week.
4. Team Up: Join coding clubs at school or online communities where you can share ideas and get help when stuck.
5. Have Fun: Treat it like a game—experiment, make mistakes, and enjoy the process!
All the best Antoine, hope this helped a little🎮😎!

Dr recommends the following next steps:

Try Scratch (https://scratch.mit.edu)—a fun, beginner-friendly site to make games and learn coding basics!

Faraaz’s Answer

Best part is getting paid well to do something you enjoy if you like to tinker with programming languages. Just as the other folks said, if you like problem solving and figuring how to make things more effective and efficient, you can enjoy this task and know that your work is rewarded with recognition that you did something that made a positive impact.
This comes with some string attached, you have to be patient, things will break, but know that you have the skill set and the knowledge to keep resolving this until it works flawlessly. It wont' be perfect, but over the many years, you will develop the skills and hone them to be better at it. It's a Mamba mentality process flow: It's a constant quest to try to be better today than you were yesterday and better tomorrow than you were the day before."

Willy’s Answer

Hi Antoine,

Even though my main job as a consultant doesn’t center on writing code, I still get plenty of chances—sometimes by choice and sometimes by necessity—to program little pieces that help my team work faster. I also have several college friends who are full-time programmers. From my own experience and from talking to my friends, I’d say the best part of programming is seeing your code actually make a difference in the real world.

When your project goes into “production,” real people start using it, and that’s when you get valuable feedback. It feels great to hear what they love about it, and even the criticisms help you learn and improve. Sure, the other parts of the process—like figuring out the problem, designing the solution, coding, testing, and fixing bugs—can be fun and challenging. But there’s nothing like the moment when you see your work in action, helping people and making their lives a little easier.

Sahida’s Answer

A computer program is just a set of instructions that use logic and automation to get things done.

As a programmer, you will always think logically and find ways to make things better and more efficient, reducing errors.

You will keep learning new things because technology is always changing, and staying updated is important.

Fixing mistakes (debugging) in programs will make you a better problem solver.

You can also work from anywhere, which helps you balance work and personal life easily.

Programming also improves teamwork because you often have to work with others, like testers and users, to make sure everything runs smoothly.
