4 year college with assistance you in choosing because you have access to a variety of general education courses. However, community colleges and two-year programs also offer nursing degrees, which are less expensive and do not require a four-year degree to become a nurse.

Catherine’s Answer

A large majority of 4-year universities that offer B.S. degrees (Bachelor's in Science) will be able to prepare you to become a nurse. If the university offers pre-med or pre-nursing programs or counseling, that is ideal, since they will specifically support you and help make sure you are taking all the required courses for going into the medical field. Keep in mind that after you attain your B.S. degree, you will still need to go to nursing school for two years to get your registered nurse license. If your university offered a nursing program, you can apply there if you want to stay, or you have the option to apply elsewhere.
