what would be a good summer job for me

i would be a lifeguard in the summer.

how much money would i make. #lifeguard

Thank you comment icon I have life guarded before. It is not too hard to pass the physical or written tests to gain the certificate that allows you to work as a life guard. I did it during the summer off and on for extra money. Most places will pay anywhere between $8.50-10.00 per hour starting depending on where you go. Not too shabby depending on your living expenses. Michael’s Answer

Hi Michael,

Personally I cannot speak as to how much a lifeguard would be compensated as I imagine it would depend on the organization hiring that person. A good process would be to form an idea of what sort of concentration you would like to have when you enter college and determine if there are any opportunities in your area to work a bit there to help you prepare. For example, I knew I wanted to major in Psychology when I started college so I joined an organization that placed me at psychology clinics to help out, make some money and learn their day-to-day.

Thanks!

Mike

Moshe’s Answer

Your earnings can vary based on several elements including your age, experience, and workplace. For instance, a camp job might pay less compared to a water park or similar places. However, don't just focus on the paycheck. Consider other aspects like the work environment, break times, support from management, and opportunities for further learning and growth.
