Hello Taylor,
Unfortunately a college degree does not guarantee a job. But that does not mean they are useless! I think it all depends on what you major in. Some college majors are in demand right now and some aren't. I would recommend you do a little research online and then choose a major that not only suit your skills and interests, but also hold promising career paths in near future. There are actually a lot of free career aptitude test you could take online to find out what career might best suit you! Also, I would suggest you to speak with a career counselor on campus about your concerns. They are trained professionals to help you learn more about your college degree and even offer tips on how to market yourself better within your job field! Besides, most employers today look beyond a college degree for job candidates. Try to be involved in extracurricular activities on campus, leadership and even volunteering opportunities while you are still in college. These experience could help you stood out among other interview candidates too.
I wish you success in all your future endeavors!

Hi Taylor,
That's a good question and a fear several people face. I think it would depend on what area you are passionate in. My background is a prime example of a fear of employability following graduation. I was a Psychology major until my Junior year of college. Finally realizing that it would be difficult to get a job, I switched to a degree in Finance as that has consistently been a very employable field. So, I would determine what you have an interest in and take it from there.
Having said that and depending on what sort of a job you would like, lots of companies do not care about the type of degree, only that you have obtained one. I work in the Pharmaceutical consulting industry and most of my clients just look to see if a degree was completed, not that it was necessarily relative to the role they are in. So, work hard to achieve a degree in a passion you have and it will work out for you.
Thanks!
Mike
