In a clinical setting, how many patients does a speech therapist treat daily?

I am curious as to know how busy I will be during work hours. I know that reports are to be updated after each appointment. How long does it take to update your patient's documents? #speech-language-pathology #speech-pathology #speech-language-pathologist #speech-language

In a clinical setting, the number of patients seen per day varies greatly on any number of factors. First, what setting do you work in? In acute care, I would see anywhere between 4-10 patients per day. When working in post-acute rehab or skilled nursing, I see anywhere between 10-15. Documentation does take a lot of time as you need to be as thorough as possible. During skilled nursing stays, you complete a progress note discussing progression towards goal completion and skilled therapy provided during that period. I tend to save between 4-5 minutes per patient to complete a SOAP note for each session which I discuss with the patient while I type on my computer. Hope this helps!
