Terri’s Answer

You will not be automatically "delisted" but they will definately take that into account. I would also say make your apologies but not "excuses" then shake it off so you are focused and strong in the remainder of the interview.

Michael’s Answer

Hi Luke,

I am in the Recruitment industry and I can say that if you are late to an interview it immediately raises reg flags regarding your punctuality and commitment to a job. Having said that, you can still wow them in the interview with your qualifications. Be sure to clearly explain why you were late, apologize and assure them it is not a reflection of your work ethic. My ultimate advice would be to be as prepared as possible for any interview you attend. Know the role inside and out, know the company (their history, projects, revenue), and be prepared to speak about how your experience relates directly to that particular role.

I hope this helps.

Thanks!

Mike

Lashay’s Answer

Interesting Question Luke: If you are tardy and that causes you to be flustered than possibly because your answers may suffer. However, if you maintain composure, you will have little problem. Larger cities tend to accommodate for traffic. Rarely, if ever, is someone automatically out for a delay of less than five minutes. The key is to call the interviewer as soon as you think you'll be late, as they may need to reschedule if other interviews are scheduled back to back. Generally, they will try to accommodate. Good luck on the paper!
