Hi Deja,

This may already be covered in your other question, but to become a OB/Gyn involves:

- graduating from high school

- getting into a good college

- getting into a medical school

- getting into residency program

- potentially getting into fellowship

Each of these steps is selective, so if you make it all the way to the fellowship program, your chances of getting a job are very very high. But did you know that the acceptance rate top medical school is less than 5%? That means, out of 100 people who apply, only 5 get in. What matters to getting into medical school? The college you go to, your college grade, your MCAT scores, letters of recommendation, and extracurricular activities in college. For example, for Harvard Medical School, the average MCAT score is around 35, and the average GPA (in college) is 3.8.

To summarize, if you make it through the schooling and training it takes to be a OB/GYN you chances of getting a job are extremely high, but to get through the training is difficult because you need to get into college, do well in college, get into medical school, do well, and then get into residency, and do well there.
