Khai Shian’s Answer

1. Do research your target (understand the company’s offerings and vision)
2. Do phone reception or search online to find out who’s the best person in the organization to contact
3. Once you know who to contact send a personalized email or cover letter with your resume. Rephrase what you’ve learned about the organization and how your skills and experience match
4. Keep the contact live. If you don’t hear back follow up with a phone call or your email will get lost. Network and find connections so you can namedrop in the conversation.

Wish you all the best!

Michael’s Answer

Hi Carter,

Great question. Reach out to the company directly, ask for their HR department (if they have one) and ask if they have any openings. You can also go to the company's website and view what current job openings they have and apply directly there. Otherwise if it is something like a restaurant or retail store, call their main number and ask them if there are any positions open and ask how you can apply.

Another suggesiton is going on websites like Indeed.com, see what positions are available and submit your resume` to those jobs. You can also post your resume` on Monster.com and CareerBuilder.com and people will contact you directly. Finally, you could contact a recruitment agency and see if they have any roles for you. A good one to try is Kelly Services, Green Resources and Robert Half International.

Good luck!

Mike
