Hi Makenzie,

What level volleyball are we talking about? And what level sonography program are we talking about?

You can become a sonographer with a 2-year associates degree or a 4-year bachelor degree. Obviously, the 4-year degree would give you a broader education and open up higher level positions. You can find sonography programs at Community Colleges as well as universities.

In Indiana, the School of Medicine on the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis campus offers a sonography bachelors program. The UI volleyball team is located in Bloomington and competes in the Big 10.

The University of Southern Indiana in Evansville offers a bachelors in Diagnostic Medical Sonography at the Kinney College of Nursing and Health Professions. Their volleyball team plays at the NCAA Division I level.

If you are just looking for a recreational volleyball team you can check the sports program for students at each college.

I hope this helps! All the best to you!

Hello, Makenzie!

I am not a representative of any colleges but I can give you advice about what to do to find a good Sonography Program at a college and how to do volleyball when you are enrolled.

There are no colleges for this in your town, but there are some colleges that offer Associates Degree Programs for Sonography not far from you. These colleges are Caris College, Ivy Tech Community College, and Indiana University School of Medicine offers a program that you'll have to explore further for the degree or certificate they may offer. So your first step is to concentrate on which Sonography program you'd like in order to be well prepared for your career.

To find out if those colleges offer a sports team of any kind you will need to call or e-mail them your question with details. Go to their websites and find their contact information and get the information directly from the college staff. You'll have to do it this way because programs change and new programs come about so you will have to obtain the official information which still may change by the time you enroll in the college.

If none of these colleges offer a Volleyball Team to join, consider taking Volleyball as a Physical Ed class. You most likely would be able to register for it every semester so you can at least have a scheduled time to play the sport. If they do not offer it as a class, you can explore community sports and join a team in your community.

If you would prefer to not do any of these options, you'll need to do an online search for colleges with good Sonography Programs, read their websites and decide how far away you may want to relocate to get both the career program and volleyball. It is a lot of information to read but worth it if those are two things you really want.

I hope this helps and I wish you all the best !
