Hi Abraham,
That's awesome that you’re aiming to open a business and grow it into several! Here’s how you can align your steps with those career goals:
**Goal 1: Open a Business**
**How to meet it:**
- **Decide on your niche**: What kind of business are you passionate about? What problem do you want to solve?
- **Start small**: Test your idea with a side hustle or small project to gain experience and build confidence.
- **Create a plan**: A solid business plan (even a one-pager) will guide you through marketing, operations, and finances.
- **Build skills**: Learn about marketing, sales, budgeting, and customer service—through school, online courses, or real-world experience.
- **Network**: Meet other entrepreneurs, mentors, or professionals who can support your journey.
**Goal 2: Grow Your Business and Have Several**
**How to meet it:**
- **Focus on one first**: Make sure your first business is stable and profitable before expanding.
- **Create systems**: Automate and delegate tasks so the business can run without you always being there.
- **Reinvest profits**: Use money from your first business to launch others or scale operations.
- **Keep learning**: Study how other business owners grow multiple companies (YouTube, podcasts, books like *The E-Myth* or *Rich Dad, Poor Dad*).
- **Think long-term**: Diversify your businesses—different industries or customer types can help you stay strong if one struggles.
**How a College Degree Helps**
- **Credibility**: Investors, banks, or clients may take you more seriously.
- **Knowledge**: Business classes (marketing, finance, management) help you make smarter decisions.
- **Connections**: College can help you meet future partners, mentors, or customers.
- **Backup plan**: A degree gives you something to fall back on or use in corporate jobs while you build your dream.

I'm not an expert in how to launch a business, however I'm working with a client who's launching a business. Here's what I know from speaking to folks who have launched businesses.
1. Be 100% focused on the business. Live and breath the goals and the work you have to do.
2. Secure financing if you need funding. Loans, VC, Crowd Funding ... It's a tough road to plow if you're bootstrapping every step of your journey. There are occasions, particularly in the sales process, when you'll need to show gravitas and past success to give customers confidence in your ability to deliver.
3. Be available to all stakeholders 24/7.
4. Be confident in your own abilities - it's a brave path you've chosen.
