Hi Cindy! If you’re looking for an affordable online MSW program that fits a full-time work schedule, here are some solid options:
- University of Wyoming – Around $9K-$17K/year, offers part-time and full-time tracks, plus in-state tuition benefits
- California State University-San Bernardino – Approx. $10K-$16K/year, with flexible traditional (60 credits) and advanced standing (36 credits) options
- University of South Dakota – Tuition is $10K-$20K/year, and they have evening and asynchronous classes for working students
- Western New Mexico University – Offers affordable tuition (starting at $286/credit for residents) and flexible pacing
- Make sure any program you choose is CSWE-accredited, as that’s required for licensure. Also, check for in-state tuition discounts, scholarships, and employer tuition assistance—some programs offer reduced rates for online students. Financial aid and grants can also help lower costs
Balancing work and school is tough, but these programs are designed for working professionals. Hope this helps, and good luck with your MSW journey! :)

Hello, Cindy !
Well, in order to refer you to online Masters of Social Work degree programs online, there's a lot more I'd need to know. No one program is geared to any specific lifestyle, colleges offer Masters Programs and if it fits into your schedule you can take it.
I'd need to know what your Bachelors Degree was in because you'll need to have been prepared for the MSW Program. The Majors that would have prepared you for the MSW Programs are a Bachelors Degree in Social Work or Psychology. Colleges that offer an online MSW program for Social Work are University of Central Florida, Capella University, University of Michigan School of Social Work, Rutgers School of Social Work, Mizzou's School of Social Work, and the University of North Carolina School of Social Work. Read their websites for information and call the colleges to discuss the information. Each college has different requirements that they can inform you of.
I would also like to know if the full time employment that you have now is in the social services field already or if it's in something not connected. If you are already working with clients in any capacity in the social services realm, that will be a plus for this Masters Program. You can also find out if your employer offers tuition reimbursement or pays for any of your Masters directly. The tuition for masters programs do not have a lower rate because they are online necessarily so you can call the schools to check on that information.
After you explore the different college's programs, I hope you find the program suited to your career goal and I wish you all the best !
