Why is it so hard to get accepted into nursing programs I have applied to so many schools, only to get denied or waitlisted. There is a nursing shortage but so difficult to get into school. I am a senior and graduating this year. I really want to become a nurse. ?

I am 17 and a senior, graduating in a few months. I really want to be a nurse. I am taking an EMS class now and I love it. I am also taking A&P.

Hi Emma,
There can be many reasons why it is difficult to be accepted into a nursing program. Without wanting to scare you away, the first one that comes to mind is that it is a difficult program. I am sure that the faculty wants their students to succeed, therefore they will have specific criteria students must meet before being accepted.
Second, is that this is a program that must have a practicum. Places for these are limited, thus you have to limit the number of students that are enrolled.
Third, there needs to be teachers available to teach.
The above are all good reasons to limit the number of students in the program, hence increases the chances an applicant will be denied.
This said, I encourage you to pursue your goal. Maybe you will not make it this time around or the next, but the only way you won't make it for sure is if you don't apply.
Good luck!
