A music education degree usually takes 4 years if you're full-time.

Yes, you can totally join jazz band as a bassoon major—many schools let you play a second instrument or audition.

And theater? Go for it! Most music majors stay involved in performing arts like acting and musicals. You don’t have to give up what you love—just manage your time wisely.

Getting a music degree depends on how much you want to further your education. I have an Associates in music production but there should be bachelor degree programs available. My suggestion is to try to do a duel major, to incorporate the different music and theater that you like to do. Depending on the college that you will attend, just talk to an advisor or registration about the process, then you should graduate with 2 degrees. I believe that there are also major/minor programs available as well. Good Luck!!!
