What would be a good major or combination of majors that could both aid me in becoming a pastor, and open up other, secular job opportunities Right now I'm thinking of double majoring in communications and math; does that seem smart??

I'll be finishing up an Oregon transfer degree at PCC this spring, and I'm planning on transferring to PSU in the fall, largely because it's the only school that works financially for me. I want to go into professional christian ministry--something like a pastor--but I recognize that that's not the most stable profession, so I'm wanting to set myself up well with a degree that could get me a decent job outside of the church, rather than just a theology or ministry degree. #Spring25

My 1st thought is psychology or counseling which would come in handy for ministry and could open up HR and other jobs. If you're good at math then accounting and finance maybe better. A church is also a 'business' and those skills are sought in many other businesses.
