Lila, if you're eager to meet new people in your classes, here are some fantastic ways to connect:

Be Open and Approachable – A friendly smile or a simple "hello" can work wonders. Sit next to someone you don't know and introduce yourself.
Join Study Groups – Even if you’re confident in the material, study groups are a fantastic way to meet classmates and work together.
Participate in Class Discussions – Speaking up during and after class helps you stand out and bond with students who share your interests.
Attend Campus Events and Clubs – Universities offer many student organizations related to your field, perfect for meeting peers with similar passions.
Utilize Online Platforms – Join class group chats or discussion boards and engage actively. It’s a great way to start conversations and organize study meet-ups.

Most importantly, take that first step—many students are eager to make connections, just like you!

Jerry’s Answer

There are no "best ways" to make friends in any particular class.

And in many instances, there will already be groups of students doing just what you want to do.

And your problem, I take from the way you asked your question, is that you are an outsider, not part of any social network.

And becoming a part of an existing social network depends upon one's personality.

"An alternative route would be, as you will not be the only one in a new class not part of any social network, is to form your own.

To do that, take a look at Karol's answer.

But, again, in the end, a great deal depends upon your personality.
