Melissa, your question truly brightened my day! Huge congrats on choosing to focus on your growth once more—it's truly inspiring! Going back to school after raising a family is a remarkable feat, showcasing your strength, commitment, and passion for learning.

Over the past 25 years, the biggest shift in college life has been technology, which has completely changed education. You'll find yourself using online platforms like Canvas or Blackboard for assignments, discussions, and resources, so getting comfortable with digital tools is key.

Colleges have also become much more diverse, welcoming students of all ages and backgrounds. You're in great company, as many adults are returning to school alongside younger students. Many schools offer special support for returning students, like career services, tutoring, and flexible class schedules.

Remember to adopt a growth mindset—relearning how to learn might seem tough, but your life experiences, discipline, and maturity are huge strengths. Don't be afraid to seek help, connect with classmates, and use all the student resources available.

Congratulations on starting this new journey—you've already conquered the hardest part by deciding to return. You've got this!

Hi! First off, huge congratulations on going back to school after all these years! I also returned to college after a 10-year break. I had kids in middle school at the time, so balancing work, family, and school was a bit challenging. But I made a schedule, and it worked out. When I went back, I noticed a more diverse age group, which made me feel more at ease. I bet you'll see the same. Technology has advanced a lot, so it took me some time to get used to the new programs and platforms. Remember, even though your youngest two are off to college, you still have two at home and need time for yourself. Make sure to schedule some "me" time. Adding school to your life can be stressful, but don't let that stop you from reaching your goal. Best of luck on your journey!
