Hi Mariah,

I don't know where you attend school, but look at the departments at your school. Your research doesn't have to be strictly medical research, but how about biology, microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemical engineering, psychology etc.? Certainly there are people doing medicine-adjacent research? Check the websites of professors in the science and engineering departments and what their research area is. Talk to the TAs in your pre-med courses and find out what they do. If you find something that sparks your interest, go and ask if they can include an undergraduate.

I hope this helps! All the best to you!
