Hi Derek! Good for you to be thinking about your career. Some engineers have a mantra: if it was an easy problem, somebody else would have solved it already. So, engineering courses are usually challenging. If they weren't, you wouldn't be learning anything.
Purdue is an excellent choice for engineering. Been there, done that.

Purdue isn't harder than most engineering schools, but it has a great reputation, so that's a big plus for you! They have many connections, which can really help you find a job more easily.
Engineering school can be challenging. Remember, the first year is the toughest. You'll need to adjust to a lot of new things and handle a lot of information at once. But don't worry—it gets easier over time, and you'll start to enjoy your classes in your junior and senior years.
All you need to succeed is good time management and a solid understanding of math. I wish you the best. Purdue is a fantastic school! Congratulations.
