What is the best way to get the word out about your own business and reach out to a wider range of people?
Last summer, I started my own business of making and selling jewelry at my local farmers' market. I still need to come up with a clever name, however, I want to start expanding. I'm not sure how to reach out further and make my business more well-known and increase my chances of selling to a larger crowd, but it is something that would greatly help the future of my business.

Having a website is a must for any business that aims to expand and grow. As is having social media accounts for that business on the platforms that your ideal customers are using.
If you can't have a website right away, then focus on building your social media profiles and use them to create content that shows the benefits of working with you or becoming a customer. Find out what your customers struggle with or need (pain points) and address them and their possible solutions or insights on them within your social media content.
Show people the work you do. Go hard on creating short-form video content and visual posts like Pinterest or Instagram posts that showcase eye-catching visuals and colors so people want to find out about you and even share your content, further giving the exposure you need.
Before you go completely legit, you should have your business name, the services and/or products you'll offer with set pricing (and always be transparent and upfront about your pricing so there are no surprises for customers and they know what to expect from the start), know what makes you different from your competition/why people should choose you over anyone else (and make that thing that differentiates you known everywhere-- tell people that this is the thing that others don't do or have that you DO do or have and how you do it.
Create offers to entice people to become customers at first if you need to, like offering a free manicure to anyone who brings a friend or a 10% discount for the month of April. Things like that. And post it all on those social media profiles for the world to see. People can't pay you to help them if they don't know you exist. They are looking for someone to do for them exactly what you do, so make sure that person is you. Market yourself and talk about your business everywhere, and if you have a website, then put the link everywhere, too. Make it as easy for people to find you and check you out as possible.
Show your process and give your insights or advice, and begin to network with others, both in your niche and in areas outside of it. Often a good chunk of business comes from knowing people and having them refer you to the other people they know in various industries.
Set up separate business bank accounts and keep records of every single dollar spent and all activities related to your business.
If you do these things, you will begin to grow and expand your business in no time at all. Good luck!

Hey Shelby, that's an awesome move! Start by asking yourself, "Where are my customers? Who is my target audience? Where do they usually buy their jewelry?" Once you figure that out, you'll have a clear path forward. Creating a great webpage with your products or sharing Instagram links and pictures at local spots like cafes can really boost your visibility. Also, don’t forget to wear your jewellery and chat about it with anyone who notices. Word-of-mouth marketing is still super effective. You've got this, and best of luck with your venture!

Social media can definitely be beneficial to growing your business. On the low end, if you start sharing on TikTok, you could get a couple hundred views with each share. Not too shabby for free.
You can also do some giveaways on Instagram or simply start posting for visibility. Tag the farmers market you are at and if they re-share, their whole audience will see what you have to offer.
