How to stay determined going to school, taking care of family, and running a business?

I want to stay encouraged pursuing my degree in nursing while I am taking care of my family and build my business. I have been wanting to go back to school for quite some time now. I left my previous employer thinking I was going to start a nursing program right away. Once I realized, that wasn't the case, I took the extra time that I have now to complete the requirements needed before starting the program. There are times I feel like giving up because of obstacles coming my way. The school I want to attend doesn't accept funds from private loans. I don't qualify for their grant since I already used it years before to earn my bachelor's degree. I have four children and I worry that I won't be able to balance taking care of them and staying focused in school. Earlier this year, I signed up with an organization that I am very passionate about and hope I will gain residual income from it. I never feel comfortable asking friends or family to purchase products from me. I prefer to use a product that perks their interests and then they will want to buy. I am open to hearing advice on not giving up and that it is possible to do it all.

Thank you comment icon 1. Build a Schedule and stick to it. If you are not a schedule type of person try searching online for tips to help you stick to it. This is Essential. 2. you said" I never feel comfortable asking friends or family to purchase products from me. I prefer to use a product that perks their interests and then they will want to buy." This all depends, you can either try selling something else. or selling to someone else maybe thru eBay or local websites where you can promote your stuff with minimum time investment. 3. Dont give up. I was in a similar situation than you before. its hard. But every day when you wake up. Tell yourself you are one day closer to your goals than you were yesterday. 4. If the school you want to attend does not take you, there should be other school who will. Gerardo Antonio Duarte Stoute

Riste’s Answer

Hey Esther, First of all, you are amazing for what you are already doing and the determination you are showing, you should be very proud!

I want to share these quotes & short videos with you, it really helped me in my life when I felt overwhelmed and did not have true belief I can achieve my goals. “Work harder on yourself, than you do on your job”, “When you get better, everything will get better for you”.

I have found in my life when you drive massive action like you are doing, you make great progress initially and then are hit with many challenges. The challenges are indicating that you are so close (telling you what you need to improve more in an area or testing to see if you up for the next phase) and your mind is trying to give you the path of least pain. Push through, you will make it!

I suggest you find free learning courses online, read books, take cheaper online course until you get that opportunity for school (keep learning and growing). It is also OK to ask people, don’t feel ashamed we built as humans to rely on each other - we have all asked for something. I am confident you will give back way more than is given to you.

I wish you the very best, success and many blessings.

That's a great question because that means that you care and you are interested in all of the things you mentioned. I think that sometimes you need to sacrifice things for things you want more. That means that if you want to reach a goal maybe you will need to sacrifice time and quality in another area you love too. In this specific question, I think that you need to organize your schedule to be intentional with every aspect. It will be thought, but worth it. I think the clue here is balance and ask for help when need it. Don't assume, talk, express your expectations and go for it.
