What are the chances i’ll become an astronomer?

I’m 18 years old and my high school career was ruined from the start, only 2 years ago did I start getting my things together and actually thinking about my future. I’ve been applying to scholarships non stop, studying for my future courses and just trying to pull everything together. Finding scholarships has been hard due to my academic performance and seeing how the job industry in astronomy has been it makes it even more competitive, and I keep hearing over and over about people who studied what i’m doing just to end up with no career, it worries me.

Thank you comment icon If tuition reimbursement or discounts etc take that into account!!! It may seem like a lot to stay and work through commitments, but time will fly and it'll be worth it :) Christina Pelc

Hello Edil,

I believe in your success, and it's time for you to believe in yourself too. You have the power to take action; focus on what you can control. Results will follow if you stay committed. You're on the right track by studying for your course.

Here's a suggestion: search for astronomers online and connect with them. Even if you're not in school, you can still learn from their experiences. Ask for advice or recommendations; they might have valuable insights for you.

I also found a useful tip: Starbucks and Chick-fil-A offer programs that cover 100% of college tuition. Check out these links for more information:

I hope this helps you. Good luck, I know you can achieve your goals! 🍀
