Do any of you have advice for me regarding my major?
#Spring25
I am close to getting my Associate's degree, and I'm planning on going to a university for my Bachelor's, but I'm undecided on my major. I have 3 options for a major: visual and performing arts, psychology, and deaf studies. I think all 3 of them have some value to them, but I don't know which one would be the best choice to go for that would be both enjoyable and well-paying.

Look at the curriculum for a few schools that you plan on attending. You might find that the same major often has different requirements depending on where you go. Usually, one will draw you over the other. Also, when looking at schools, consider what format they use. For me, being able to do coursework from home in a fully online master's program was a game changer because I hated being locked into a time and location as opposed to attending for course knowledge! If you try one out and find it is not a great fit, no one says you must stay in a program or at a given school. I changed majors in year #3 due to feeling misled into a program, school, and field. The volume of relief that I felt when I watched the pieces align was unbelievable.

I suggest you try getting an internship or volunteering while you work on your associate degree. These fields are varied. Many people spend too much on education in areas that don't pay well or don't interest them. Earning an associate degree is a good choice, but it's important to have a plan to go with it.
