How do you apply for colleges?
During senior year, what is the process for applying to colleges? A lot of the deadlines for applying is in November, but that is before the first semester of your senior year is done, so would your grades from that year not matter than?

Hi Ryan,
The application process for colleges will vary by the different schools that you are applying to, but it can generally be broken down into a couple of main categories:
- Taking and submitting a standardized college admissions test score (SAT or ACT)
- Completing a questionnaire that includes some of your high school accomplishments (GPA, extracurriculars, volunteer activity)
- Writing a couple of essays that respond to questions provided by the school
As I said, this will vary by college, so it's important that you find the specific requirements for the schools that you are going to apply to.
To your question about if your grades matter after you apply, colleges will generally require you to maintain a GPA that is consistent with what you had before applying to maintain your acceptance. So keep those grades up!
Best,
Tyler

Let me add on a college application, universities tend to favor students who are active in high school such as participating in team sports, volunteering, internships, ROTC and GPA is a major factor. I hope this link helps you out. Keep me posted.
