PEG’s Answer
It’s all new, it’s all different, and that is by design. College is supposed to break your routine; it’s called growth!
You can keep your personal routines for morning & bedtime self care, but if you can keep an open mind about the newness of everything, you will be surprised in good ways as you experience new and different friendships, activities, relationships and opportunities - embrace it and decide you are going to love it!
You are one of the lucky ones!

Being away from home. As someone who wanted to get away more than anything, getting there was, shall we say, difficult. Different landscape, locale, and population. It takes patience and persistence. Not to mention, college courses are more difficult, but less rigid than HS. No more someone standing over your shoulder. It's all you now. That's where you start to grow your wings.

It sounds like an easy thing to adjust to, but it would probably be the freedom. High school is very structured and college, by comparison, opens up many different avenues to pursue. Some people miss that structure and need the “push” that high school offered, falling into a trap of feeling stuck by an array of endless choices. It is important to remind yourself on “why” you went to college and to lean into everything that it has to offer. While it may feel overwhelming, take one step at a time and enjoy the ride.
