Hi,
I was an Army Recruiter but not an Airborne Ranger, I did have friends and fellow soldiers that went through this training and were in the Rangers.

Here is a link with some basic information, you can also talk to a local Army Recruiter (with your parents consent and knowledge) about this in more detail as well.
Good luck!

The Significance and Process of Becoming an Army Airborne Ranger
Becoming an Army Airborne Ranger is a prestigious accomplishment that requires dedication, physical fitness, mental toughness, and a strong desire to serve your country. Airborne Rangers are elite soldiers who are trained to conduct special operations missions in various environments. In this comprehensive answer, we will explore the significance of being an Airborne Ranger, what it is like to be a ranger, and the process of becoming one.
1. The Significance of Being an Army Airborne Ranger
Being an Army Airborne Ranger holds significant importance for several reasons:
a) Elite Special Operations Unit: The Airborne Rangers are part of the United States Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment, which is a highly specialized unit responsible for conducting direct action raids, airfield seizures, special reconnaissance, and other high-value target missions. They are considered one of the most elite special operations forces in the world.
b) Combat Readiness: As an Airborne Ranger, you undergo rigorous training that prepares you for combat situations. This includes airborne operations (parachuting), marksmanship, close-quarters combat, survival skills, and more. The training ensures that Rangers are prepared to face any challenges they may encounter on the battlefield.
c) Versatility: Airborne Rangers are trained to operate in different environments, including urban areas, mountains, jungles, and deserts. Their versatility allows them to adapt to various mission requirements and work alongside other special operations units.
d) Leadership Development: Becoming an Airborne Ranger offers tremendous opportunities for leadership development. Rangers are expected to lead by example and possess strong leadership qualities. The experiences gained as a Ranger can provide a solid foundation for future leadership roles within or outside the military.
2. What It’s Like to Be an Army Airborne Ranger
Being an Army Airborne Ranger is both mentally and physically demanding. Rangers are required to maintain a high level of physical fitness, discipline, and mental resilience. Here are some key aspects of what it’s like to be a Ranger:
a) Intense Training: Airborne Rangers undergo some of the most challenging military training in the world. This includes the Basic Airborne Course (BAC), Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP), and the Ranger School. These courses test candidates physically, mentally, and emotionally to ensure they possess the necessary skills and qualities to become a Ranger.
b) Operational Deployments: Once qualified, Rangers can be deployed worldwide to conduct special operations missions. These deployments may involve combat operations, counterterrorism efforts, humanitarian missions, or training foreign militaries. Rangers must be prepared for extended periods away from home and to operate in high-stress environments.
c) Teamwork and Camaraderie: Being part of the Ranger Regiment fosters a strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie. Rangers work closely with their fellow soldiers, relying on each other’s skills and abilities to accomplish mission objectives. The bonds formed within the unit are often lifelong and create a unique brotherhood.
d) Continuous Training: As an Airborne Ranger, training is not limited to initial qualification courses. Rangers engage in constant training to maintain their skills, stay updated on tactics and technology, and prepare for future missions. This ensures that they remain at the highest level of readiness at all times.
3. The Process of Becoming an Army Airborne Ranger
To become an Army Airborne Ranger, you need to follow a specific process:
a) Enlistment: The first step is enlisting in the United States Army. You can do this by visiting your local Army recruiting office or contacting an Army recruiter online. They will guide you through the enlistment process and provide information on available job options.
b) Basic Training: After enlisting, you will attend Basic Combat Training (BCT) for approximately ten weeks. This training focuses on developing your physical fitness, military discipline, and basic soldiering skills.
c) Airborne School: Once you have completed BCT, you can attend the Basic Airborne Course (BAC) at Fort Benning, Georgia. The course lasts three weeks and teaches you the fundamentals of parachuting. Successful completion of BAC earns you the Army’s basic parachutist badge.
d) Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP): After completing Airborne School, you will be eligible to attend RASP. RASP is a physically and mentally demanding selection process that assesses candidates’ suitability for the Ranger Regiment. It includes a series of tests, evaluations, and assessments designed to identify individuals who possess the necessary qualities to become Rangers.
e) Ranger School: If selected during RASP, you will attend Ranger School. This is an intense leadership course that lasts approximately 62 days and is divided into three phases: Benning Phase, Mountain Phase, and Swamp Phase. Successful completion of Ranger School earns you the prestigious Ranger Tab.
f) Assignment to the 75th Ranger Regiment: Upon graduating from Ranger School, you will be assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment. From there, you will undergo additional specialized training specific to your role within the regiment.
It is important to note that becoming an Airborne Ranger requires dedication and a commitment to excellence throughout each step of the process. Maintaining high physical fitness standards, demonstrating leadership potential, and embodying the Army’s values are essential factors in successfully becoming an Airborne Ranger.
