Why can't we(students) get more help going to college?
Looking at college applications I have noticed that the price of attending college is high. It is also hard to transition from high school to college, why can't there be more help in the transition to college and help paying for college?

Oh--such is a political inquiry but I am here with you.
What I have realized from my own personal first-generational experiences of going through college is that I wish I would've slowed things down. Perhaps, taking a course or a few at a time would allow one to escape the looming epidemic which is student debt; also, it would have allowed you to take some time so that you are not pressured to make a life long decision.
It seems transferring from community to university can save a lot of big bucks too; and, since community college also fast-track professions that warrant a career, one can use that as an investment to fuel their long-term aspirations if they haven't established it and the pathway to reach it.
I hope that helps.

Outside of a very supportive parental advice and HS guidance counselors, you may have to talk to friends/family that are older than you and have gone through what you are going through. It isn't easy, but if cost/transition in an issue community/junior colleges are not a bad option. If you choose this option, make sure that the classes are easily transferable to a 4 yr college that you are looking into. You also have to make sure that if you work, that your grades come first so that transferring is easier. Overall, you may get differing opinions, so ultimately the choice is yours. Adulthood comes with growing pains and ALL of us make mistakes, just try not to make the same mistakes over and over again.
