Is it possible for me to double major at a community college?
I wish to major in both business management and fine arts so I can become an art director, but I'm not sure if I can do that at a community college. #community-college #double-major #business-management #fine-art

Yes, I went to HCC for a year and half and they offered a variety of double majors. Looking into community colleges and going on tours prior to applying would be helpful and getting a feel for what you want to ask.

How funny I wanted to double major in art in business too! I wouldn't suggest doing this however because 1) it can add 2 years or more to school because the two fields have very different credit requirements 2) it would cost a lot of extra money. I would decide what kind of art director you wanted to be first and then, research the qualifications of becoming an art director. From what I know and a little googling a lot of art directors major in graphic design, or interactive design. Would that be an option instead? In addition, with all the digitalization that is happening I would say it is almost more important to acquire certifications (in Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) and then getting experience in the workplace is more important. These are skills that you don't necessarily need to go to school for. A lot of programs offer free certification courses on their websites. A lot of businesses are looking for people who know how to use these programs. Just something to keep in mind. Just make sure what your getting schooling for lines up with the qualifications of the job you want and research what skills you can acquire that would make you an outstanding candidate. Best of luck.

Most two year community colleges do not do a double major with the topics you are looking into. I would suggest a 4 year if you are going to double major. A two year would be great to get the basics out of the way and then transfer out to a higher level establishment
