A college business program can encompass a wide variety of topics that will be very helpful to running a clothing line. Major areas of study that will be relevant to you include:

Accounting - How do you keep track of money you bring in from customers and spend on supplies?
Finance - How can you find investors or get a bank loan to get the money to start your business?
Information Systems - What computer programs will you need to track orders from customers and shipments of your product?
Management - How do you coordinate and motivate employees?
Marketing - How can you advertise and promote your business?

Studying these topics can certainly make you more confident and better prepared to start your own business.

Thank you comment icon College can teach you a wide range of things when it comes to learning "business" you have to narrow in on what you would like to personally focus on and delegate other activities. A four-year business degree can teach you the operational aspects of business (sales, marketing, human resource management, compliance, accounting, etc.) Because there are many different types of business degree programs, as a future business owner, get the basics down and choose a program based on which area of business you'd like to focus in on for your clothing line. Hi, Alma!

Many universities are now incorporating entrepreneurship into business administration curriculum. When searching for a degree at a university, make sure that the courses offer elements of business that go beyond accounting, marketing, compliance, and administration. All of these are essential, but you will also need to learn about securing business capital and writing business plans. Great programs in business offer entrepreneurship coursework (even final projects) that teach you these skills.
