How can I afford to attend my dream school?

My dream school, University of Texas-Austin, is $50,000 per year for cost of attendance. I want to attend, but it's out of my price range. What are my options?

Lower the cost by Becoming a Texas resident! After graduating HS, take a gap year. Move to Texas. Get a job. Make sure your parents do not claim you as a dependent on their most recent tax return prior to your applying to the university. http://www.uttyler.edu/admissions/residency.php (it's Tyler, but the info is still good!)

Find a job with an employer that offers tuition assistance. Or, join the military for a few years first. And of course, scholarships, loans, and grants. Basically, if you want something bad enough, you will find a way to make it happen!

What's your major, and why UT? Not that I don't think it's an awesome school, just curious why you are hooked on it!
