The courses that you take and the degree that you earn should relate directly to that held by people who are doing the job of interest to you. It also should apply directly to your interests and personality traits held by people in those career areas. During my many years in Human Resources and College Recruiting, I have developed the following steps, which will help you to develop your own path to success and fulfillment in your chosen career area.

Ken gave you some great steps to take for a general exploration of your career path. I hope you can follow his advice.
I wanted to also respond to share that veterinarians are licensed by their states. I would think about the states you might prefer to work in and then look up their licensing requirements. Those requirements will likely say if you need a DVM or if you could still practice with a PhD.
