Daniela’s Answer

Hi Jesus,

Music graduates work in a range of professions inside and outside music. If you choose to follow a music career you may have to take on several roles with different employers. For example, you could combine teaching with freelance performance work, as well as doing contract/session work on particular projects.

Music graduates can be found working for a variety of employers on both a freelance and contract basis. Employers include:

schools and colleges;
orchestras;
music retailers;
media organisations;
the armed forces;
commercial organisations;
a range of employers in the cultural and creative industries.

Elizabeth’s Answer

Hi Jesus,

indeed.com is a good resource for jobs in music related fields such as music business, studio admin, music licensing, record lables, teaching and such. I would avoid "pay to apply" websites such as //www.workinentertainment.com. The postings on these types of websites are often outdated and easily accessible for free via the internet simply by Googling the job description and location listed on these "pay to apply"sites. My experience with finding work as a performer/musician is networking and self promotion. This site provides good tips. http://www.musiciansway.com/

Also, be sure to research fields you are interested in, hone your skills in your areas of interest and stay on top of trends in the industry.

I hope this helps. Best of luck to you!

All the best,
Liz
