What should I do if college hopes are falling?

In high school, I had huge goals for college, and now college is one step away. But although I'm a good student, college is seeming unlikely because of all the issues concerning funding. #scholarships

Hi Eleazar! You should be able to be successful based on how hard you work. If you really want to go to college, there are many scholarships and financial aid support out there that should be able to help you. Look into scholarships through your high school or through the college you would like to attend. Also, financial aid can be viewed on the FAFSA website (https://fafsa.ed.gov/) or also through the college you would like to attend. If the career you want to pursue requires a college degree, there are many paths you can take. Also consider smaller universities and community colleges as these are usually less expensive. You can also consider working first out of high school and save up money to later attend college.

If you want to pursue a career that does not require a college degree or if school is not for you, there are also many options. You can still have a career and good paying job working in other fields such as factories, retail, and postal service. They accept employees with high school diplomas and you can work your way up in a company to earn a good salary.

Attending trade school or certain programs to earn certifications is also an option. These routes usually take less time and are less expensive. These are more specific to a certain industry and position but give you quality hands-on participation to learn from. There are many types of programs available for all different fields. Don't let anything discourage you and pursue what you think is best for you!
