How will technological advances change how medicine is practiced when I become a doctor?
I am seeing robotic technology that allows doctors to do surgery remotely and this seems like a completely different type of training than what I thought I would be doing to be a surgeon. It is exciting, but I hope that I don't get my education only to find technology has left me behind.

Do not worry. Part of being a professional is keeping up with trends and developments that affect one's own area of speciality. Through such organizations as the American Medical Association and other speciality groups, a doctor is able to keep up with changes in his/her area and attain appropriate education to keep up. The most important thing for one to do is to determine which specific area might be appropriate. It will be great help to medical field but then Robots and technology cant replace the Human Touch. Its the human who will provide inputs always. So i will say maybe Job role will slightly change and you will have huge amount of data to support your efforts.
