Hi. Good question! Both of those branches are great places to be. Civil engineeeing's focus is physical structures, buildings, bridges and the like. Mechanical engineering's focus is machines, like cars. It dedpend solely on you interest. Do you want to build the physical structures that people use, or the machines that they use?

It used to be that mechanical engineering curriculums were more heavy on the computer technology front, but now with advancement in CAD and other technologies, I don't believe that is the case anymore. So they would be fairly close in the types of classes you'd need, depending upon the discipline within each you take.

Hi Vikram!

Here is a web site that will tell you all about engineering. Which one you choose would depend on your interest. Which one would be best for you is the one you enjoy the most. Perhaps your math and science teachers could help you learn more about each area.
