Hi Marco M.

First of all, you should improve your own organization skill and observation skill. Because everything and people around you can become your inspiration for creating movies in the future, such as how to tell a good story.

In terms of skills, you may need to think about what position you want to play in the team, for example, director, script, editing, sound effects, special effects and photography. And most importantly, you must keep a healthy body, because the film industry is a very tiring.

Steven’s Answer

Hi Marco M. I'd mostly recommend watching as many different kinds of films, from as many countries, and even different time periods, as possible. What you'll see is that filmmaking tends to reflect the societies it comes from, and those societies have different concerns during different time periods. As a result, completely different styles of filmmaking and different types of stories come out of those places at those specific times. By looking closely at different types of work, you'll notice different stylistic and story-telling choices. Try to keep a log of what you watch and your opinions and observations of the films. This is not just a "getting ready for film school" thing; it's a lifelong habit of most filmmakers, myself included. Good luck!
